Here's our District 3-AAA girls' basketball rankings for the 2012-13 season. Records through Feb. 4. Rankings are independent of D3 power ratings used for seeding purposes.

1. Lancaster Catholic (21-0) – last week: 1 – Tossed up 71, 87 and 71 points last week and should have little trouble finishing a perfect regular season. Doesn't everyone want to see the Crusaders battle that explosive No. 2?

2. Palmyra (22-0) – last week: 2 – The Cougars have jumped over every hurdle and closed their regular season with a frantic one-point victory over Hershey Monday. Next up for the D3 top seed is the MPC showcase.

3. West York (18-3) – last week: 3 – We have to believe Jon Shultz when he says the Bulldogs will rebound from Saturday's lopsided loss to Central Dauphin. West York is 7-2 without leading-scorer Sarah Shearer.

4. Eastern York (15-6)– last week: 5 – It's troubling when a seven-game winning streak is snapped. Seeing that Lancaster Catholic only snapped that string by 12 points is not so frustrating at all.

5. West Perry (20-2) – last week: 4 – Maybe the Mustangs just need to refuel the tanks. Scott Moyer's assembly did add three more wins to their resume last week, but those three-point wins over Milton Hershey and Juniata are a tad alarming.

CLOSING IN

Berks Catholic (16-5)

Trinity (12-7)

Gettysburg (16-4)

Conrad Weiser (16-4)

Susquehannock (15-6)

Fleetwood (16-4)
