Here's our District 3-A girls' basketball rankings for the 2012-13 season. Records through Feb. 4. Rankings are independent of D3 power ratings used for seeding purposes.

1. Steel-High (18-3)– last week: 1 – The Rollers clinched a share of the Mid-Penn Capital Division by barreling past Middletown, Milton Hershey and East Pennsboro. Way too much firepower to be slotted elsewhere.

2. Lebanon Catholic (11-10) – last week: 2 – Guess which Lancaster-Lebanon crew has the second-toughest schedule in the classification? Yep, the Beavers. Would be a royal diss if the defending champs fall in Steel-High's side of the bracket.

3. Halifax (12-8) – last week: 3 – Morgan Cox, Brianna Custer, Tess Kieffer and the rest of 'Cats busted up a pair of Tri-Valley League combatants to move well above .500. Won't catch TVL-leading Juniata but it's still been a successful ride.

4. Harrisburg Christian (14-5) – last week: 4 – Included in a 3-0 week was a 15-point victory over CCAC-West rival Bible Baptist. It also appears guard Macaela Campbell is heating up at just the right time.

5. High Point (12-4) – last week: 5 – Paige Hansen pocketed 21 points and Lorraine Piccirillo added 14 against Lehigh Valley, which close out a steady 3-0 sprint last week.

CLOSING IN

Mount Calvary (14-5)

Millersburg (10-10)

Bible Baptist (12-8)
