The Penn Relays are set for later this month in Philadelphia, and 13 midstate athletes representing the Mid-Penn Conference and Lancaster-Lebanon League have qualified for individual events.
Eight boys and five girls have punched their tickets to the prestigious Relays, set for April 24-26 in and around the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field.
Here are the qualifiers:
GIRLS
Rachael DeCecco, Cumberland Valley — 400 hurdles; Thursday, 10:20 a.m.
Tesia Kempski, Bishop McDevitt — pole vault; Thursday, 1 p.m.
Anna Bailey, Bishop McDevitt — javelin; Thursday, 1:15 p.m.
Crystal Hartman, Ephrata — javelin; Thursday, 1:15 p.m.
Mady Clahane, Cumberland Valley — 1 mile run; Thursday, 6 p.m.
BOYS
David Lucas, Warwick — discus; Friday, 12:45 p.m.
Jhet Janis, Cocalico — javelin, Friday, 2:45 p.m.
Luke Knouse, West Perry — javelin, Friday, 2:45 p.m.
DaShaun Jackson, Harrisburg — 400 hurdles, 9 a.m.
Chance Post, Conestoga Valley — 400 hurdles, 9 a.m.
Tyree Ballenger, McCaskey — high jump; Saturday, 10 a.m.
Alex McCord, Warwick — high jump; Saturday, 10 a.m.
Bryce Williams, State College — triple jump; Saturday, noon.
The high school relays have not been finalized, but expect several local boys’ and girls’ relay units to be in the field.
