GIRLS' TRACK AND FIELD

MID-PENN COLONIAL DIVISION

In the last five years, Gettysburg has lost just one girls' track and field dual meet under head coach Lizanne Stephan. The Warriors went 7-0 in the Mid-Penn Colonial Division last year to win the title.

However, Gettysburg's roster took a little hit from graduation, so the door is open a crack for the other teams in the Colonial. Still, Gettysburg looks particularly strong in the throws. That was the one area in which the Warriors have all their point scorers back, including seniors Rachel Sullivan and Chloe Lochbaum.

Boiling Springs went 6-1 last year and may be the most likely team to unseat Gettysburg. With Taylor Weiss in throws, the Bubblers might be able to take some points from the Warriors. Also, Leanna Weaver in the distance races will help Boiling Springs' cause.

Waynesboro is a long shot to be in the team race, but has a couple of strong individuals in jumper Lilly Harnish and hurdler Hollister Rolls, who may go deep in post-season meets.

Big Spring has good numbers this year but is a little young and inexperienced.

James Buchanan will probably be strongest in the jumps, where the Rockets have returnees Hailey Alger, Cheyenne Carbaugh and Jenna Carbaugh.

Shippensburg has the overall numbers to contend with 65 athletes on the roster. There are also a decent number of experienced Greyhounds with 15 returning letter winners, like senior Janay Hamilton and junior Leah Fleming in the sprints.

Greencastle-Antrim did not submit any preview information.
