It won't drop as the prettiest victory in the brief history of Berks Catholic basketball, but eventually the fourth-seeded Saints righted the ship and bounced Gettysburg 48-32 Tuesday in opening-round action of the boys' District 3-AAA hoops tournament.
Connor Jack paced the Saints (22-4) with 18 points, 12 coming after the break as the two-time defending district champions widened a modest 17-10 advantage through 16 minutes. Also making headlines was Saints big man and Bucknell recruit Nana Foulland, who chipped in 15 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career.
Tyler Lampe's 12 points led the 13th-seeded Warriors (15-8). Berks Catholic will lock up with fifth-seeded Susquehanna Twp. Friday in the quarterfinal round.
