The Pennsylvania high school football playoffs get under way this Friday in select parts of the state, Pittsburgh included.

The playoffs culminate on Dec. 14 and 15 at Hersheypark Stadium where four state champions will be crowned.

For those not familiar with the PIAA geographical districts, here is a cheat sheet:
District 1: Philadelphia suburbs.
District 2: Wilkes-Barre and Scranton area.
District 3: Our home district. Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, Lebanon, Franklin, Adams, York and Berks counties.
District 4: The coal region.
District 5: Fulton, Bedford and Somerset counties.
District 6: Altoona and Johnstown area.
District 7: Pittsburgh area. Also known as the WPIAL.
District 8: Pittsburgh City.
District 9: North Central Pennsylvania. Jefferson, Elk, Clarion, Cameron, Potter and McKean counties.
District 10: Erie area.
District 11: Lehigh Valley.
District 12: Philadelphia City.
