STEEL-HIGH AT TRINITY

7 p.m. FRIDAY, COBO FIELD

RECORDS: Steel-High 3-0, 0-0 Capital; Trinity 1-2, 0-0.

THE ROLLERS: Say what you want about the Rollers first three opponents, the most impressive Steel-High stat, at least in this corner, is 20. That's how many points Tom Hailey's crew have allowed during this 3-0 start. Plus, we don't normally speak about the Rollers resolve, but that James Warren TD run in overtime last week proves these guys have it. Not a ton of yardage piled up against Pius X, but you have to like the way QB Warren, RB Shaheim Moody-Williams and WR Jaki Haywood are pressing defenses. The same goes for that Rollers' D.

THE SHAMROCKS: You can look at Trinity's 28-22 week 3 victory in a few ways. Yes, the Shamrocks got off the deck, pinning down Columbia with 28 first-half points. Still, the very same Crimson Tide outfit that struggled to outlast Eastern York (1-2) and Northeastern (0-3) still rolled up 234 rushing yards against the T-Rocks. In fact, Trinity was outgained 371-286 in total yards. We know QB Mike Boguski produced another fine effort, and the Rocks might have let off the gas a little early. But it just feels like progress on the defensive side of the ball is occurring at a snail's pace.

THE CRUX: Trinity wide receiver Brandon Kuntz has been Boguski's most reliable target to date. He'll work against a pretty athletic Steel-High secondary with a flair for the dramatic.

EPLER SAYS: This battle of breakneck offenses should be a dandy, but it appears the Rollers (-4) are a little better equipped to put the clamps down with time running out.
