It would be hard to find a Division III college in central Pennsylvania that did not have at least a few midstate athletes on its field hockey roster. Here is a list of some of the local schools with local talent.

Messiah: The 3-1 Falcons, ranked No. 7 in Division III, have had Milton Hershey's Molly Gebrosky in goal for all four of their games. She has a 1.59 goals against average. Lindsay and Emily Bower of Big Spring are also playing for Messiah. Emily has two assists. Angela Klaczak from Palmyra is also a goalie on the roster but has not played yet.

Susquehanna: Erica Reichart of Gettysburg has two goals and one assist for the Crusaders, who are 4-2. Taylor Snavely of Middletown is also a starter, and Margaret Ruth of Northern has been in goal five of the six games. Ruth has a 1.40 GAA.

Elizabethtown: The Blue Jays are 2-2. Kaylee Werner of Chambersburg has a goal and an assist, while Taylor Alwine of Lower Dauphin has an assist. Emily Mason and Marissa Sneeringer, of Chambersburg and CD East, respectively, also start. Mason has a defensive save.

Lebanon Valley: Caity Stevens of Big Spring has an assist for the Flying Dutchmen, who are 1-4. Kristen Garman of Chambersburg is starting for LVC, while Rachel Youngs of Cedar Crest, Laura James of Milton Hershey and Kendra Moll of Elco have all seen playing time. Zania Walter of Lebanon is on the roster but has not played yet.

Arcadia: Arcadia is off to a 4-1 start, and both Bishop McDevitt's Morgan Paese and Central Dauphin's Hannah Christensen have contributed with two assists each. Another McDevitt alum, Mindy Hair, has played off the bench regularly.

Albright: CD East goalkeeper Brianna Talley has not yet appeared in a game for the 1-4 Lions.

Bridgewater: The Eagles are not a local squad, playing their home games on their Virginia campus. But they have tapped into midstate talent. Boiling Spring's Allison Kirk and Greenwood's Rachel Loy have both played in all four games for the 3-1 Eagles. Kirk has a goal. Central Dauphin goalie Bri Bashore has not yet played for Bridgewater.

Amber Youtz continues her roll at Temple

Already off to a hot start both as an individual and as a member of No. 11 Temple, Amber Youtz had her biggest day on Saturday in the Owls' 6-0 win over Monmouth. Youtz scored four goals and had an assist in the victory. She was only the second Owl in the last 20 years to score four goals in one contest. Youtz now has eight goals and three assists this year.
