Shortly after the Saturday morning portion of the District 3 Track and Field championships started, Kayla Kelley of Millersburg was standing on top of the medal stand.
Kelley won the AA girls' 300-meter hurdles with a 47.45.
"I was feeling alright, but it was the morning so everyone was kind of tired [during warmups]," Kelley said. "But I got stretched out and felt good."
Kelley maintained a lead over Wyomssing's Carly Shuttlesworth, who finished second with a 48.05.
"The adrenaline was pumping," Kelley said.
Kelley will be running in the 100 hurdles later today.
