In a stunning turn of events, Harrisburg went from having the ball up two touchdowns with five minutes to play Saturday afternoon to losing by a field goal in overtime to Central Dauphin.
Drew Scales had an amazing final five minutes of regulation and overtime to carry Central Dauphin to a dramatic 24-21 victory at Severance Field.
Scales returned an inteception 35 yards for a touchdown, scored on a 3-yard run, knocked down a potential game winning touchdown pass on the final snap in regulation and blocked the Cougars' field goal attempt in overtime.
The senior did all this for Central Dauphin with his team down 21-7 with less than five minutes to play and the ball in Harrisburg's possession.
Harrisburg (5-2, 3-1) outgained Central Dauphin (6-1, 4-0) 494-211 in total yards in a hard hitting Mid-Penn Commonwealth game that had nine turnovers.
