SUSQUEHANNA TWP. MOVES CLOSER TO KEYSTONE DIVISION TITLE: By winning its eighth straight game overall, the Susquehanna Twp. Indians are now one win away from clinching at least a share of this year's Mid-Penn Keystone crown. Nehemiah Mack scored 15 and Joe Marshall 13 Wednesday night in Lewisberry as the Indians dealt winless Red Land a 58-38 defeat. Game was close at halftime, but the Patriots managed just a single point in the third quarter as the Tribe pulled away. Tyler Zeiders and Dennis Porter scored 11 each for Red Land.
ELSEWHERE IN THE KEYSTONE: Trey Baker's 3-pointer in the final minute ultimately gave Palmyra a 59-58 victory over Bishop McDevitt. Technically it keeps the Cougars' Keystone hopes alive, though they'd have to win out and Susquehanna Twp. would have to lose out to force a tie. Adam Newhard scored 13 of his team-high 20 points in the fourth to lead a Palmyra comeback. Coach Pete Conrad's team outscored the Crusaders 23-15 in the final quarter. ... Trinity reversed an earlier upset loss to Mechanicsburg, this time dealing the Wildcats a 44-30 setback by playing superb defense. Trinity yielded just nine, four and three points over the first three quarters. Josh Trumpy's 18 points led the Shamrocks. Mechanicsburg star guard Collin Farnham reportedly rolled his ankle late in the game. ... Hershey bounced Lower Dauphin 74-62 behind 21 points from Chase Watkins. Watkins scored 12 of his points in the fourth quarter to help the Trojans pull away. John Miller added 18.
