Hershey boy's cross country garner a second place team finish while the girls earned an eighth place against a strong field at PTXC-4 at Kutztown University on Saturday morning. The boys were led by Nate Hamilton (16:46) who placed 10th overall in the Varsity Gold race. Aiden Demko had a strong run to finish 16th in 17:05 while Eric Cray powered his way to 18th with a 17:08. Will Sponaugle(29th, 17:24), Jake Brodeur (38th, 17:35), Trevor Ruddle (42nd, 17:45), and Takodah Thompson (61st, 18:06) helped power the Trojans to a second place 99 point tie with Cumberland Valley and just five behind meet winner Lower Daupin.
The girls varsity were led to their eighth place finish of 226 points by Gabi Broschard who powered her way to a 12th place finish in 19:55. Megan Ingalls had a strong showing earning 40th in 21:00 while Erin Vrana came in 60th overall in 21:39. Yanna Bekelja (64th, 21:51), Carmen Marcucci (71st, 22:09), Grace Waverka (84th, 22:49), Grace Bruggemeier (89th, 22:55) and Eliza Dewey (98th, 23:06) helped pace the Trojans to 226 points against a strong 21 team field. Dallas was the team winner with 80 points in the Girls Gold Varsity race.
Led by Adam Rabon who earned a 13th place finish with a strong run in 19:23 Hershey JV boys earned a fourth place team finish with 140 points. Chris Abruzzo brought home 27th with a 20:03, and Josh Dalton earned 30th with 20:07. Peter D'Amico was close behind garnering 32nd in 20:09. Marc Snoke (44th, 20:24), Ben Curry (67th, 20:58), Daniel Ioffreda (93rd, 21:31), Michael Corrado and Patrick Ioffreda (both 122nd, 22:01), Jacob Nantz (147th, 22:37), David Chavey (151, 22:46), Rodeo Thompson (152, 22:46), Austin Koring (169, 23:13), Christian Cassidy-Amstutz (197, 23:57), Matt Fagerstrom (211, 24:24), Sunny Xu (220, 24:47), Dylan Devenyi (252, 26:47), Paven Patel (274, 30:26) all ran well in a 24 team nearly 300 runner field.
Lauren Cunfer earned a 12th place finish with a 24:00 run to lead the Hershey JV girls to a fifth place team finish. Nicole Sullivan earned a 24th place finish with her 24:44 run. Kelly McCartney (31, 24:58), Maddie O'Shea (38, 25:30), Morgan Hocker (44, 25:53) ran hard over the rolling "Farm Course" at Kutztown University.
