CLASS AAAA
1. Lower Dauphin (11-3)
2. Reading High (12-5)
3. Ephrata (12-3)
4. Waynesboro (11-3)
5. Governor Mifflin (11-6)
On the fence: Warwick (11-5), Cumberland Valley (7-4), Spring Grove (10-5).
Pinch hits: For the second week in a row a new No. 1 emerges in Lower Dauphin. The Falcons popped out three more one-sided victories and still remain unblemished in the Keystone Division. … Reading's victory over Governor Mifflin last week earned the Knights a spot inside the Top 3. Mifflin also succumbed to Cedar Cliff in the time frame, which dropped the Mustangs four slots. … Central York and Penn Manor, meanwhile, took considerable tumbles after losing three straight games apiece.
CLASS AAA
1. Donegal (13-2)
2. West York (12-1)
3. Susquehannock (12-1)
4. Lampeter-Strasburg (14-3)
5. Hamburg (14-2)
On the fence: Greencastle-Antrim (10-2), Manheim Central (11-3), Oley Valley (13-4).
Pinch hits: The folks in York County will disagree but we're shipping previous No. 2 Donegal to the top of the heap. Not only is Donegal riding a 10-game winning streak but the Indians just completed a series sweep of Manheim Central on Monday. … Lampeter-Strasburg is rolling on a nine-game streak and is looking forward to next week's clash with No. 1 Donegal. … Hamburg slides into the mix after a solid 4-0 week that included a victory over Capital-leading West Perry. … Lastly, defending 3-AAA champs Greencastle-Antrim is threatening to punch into the Top 5, winning eight straight.
CLASS AA
1. Berks Catholic (10-6)
2. Delone Catholic (12-3)
3. Camp Hill (9-4)
4. Upper Dauphin (11-2)
5. Tulpehocken (9-7)
On the fence: Annville-Cleona (8-6), Susquenita (9-4), Trinity (7-5).
Pinch hits: We told you this would be an exciting sprint to the finish. Let's get this out of the way, meaning why Berks Catholic, despite a modest 3-2 stretch, remains top dog? We're keeping the Saints in the penthouse suite because losses to Hamburg and Muhlenberg, teams with a combined 23-8 record, isn't too shabby. Plus, the Squires of Delone Catholic had a fairly easy waltz last week. … Despite dropping its first Tri-Valley League scrape to tough-minded East Juniata, No. 3 Upper Dauphin continues to put up impressive offensive numbers. … Tulpehocken has won four of five and deserves a shot inside the ropes. … We're keeping a close eye on Annville-Cleona, as well. The L-L Section 4 leaders nearly clipped Donegal a week ago.
CLASS A
1. York Catholic (7-7)
2. Millersburg (7-7)
3. Lancaster County Christian (8-1)
4. Antietam (5-10)
5. Mount Calvary (6-6)
On the fence: High Point Baptist (7-4), West Shore Christian (5-5).
Pinch hits: We're mixing it up this week for a couple of reasons. The Irish take over the top spot after gaining steam with a three-win week. The truth is not much is separating the Top 3, including fast-rising Lancaster County Christian, whose only loss came to Annville-Cleona on opening day. … It was hardly a memorable eight-day stretch for former No. 2 Antietam, dropping four of five games. … Adding West Shore Christian to our watch list seemed appropriate considering victories over No. 5 Mount Calvary and Newport on Monday.
