HS track and field: Cedar Crest edges Palmyra, Annville-Cleona for Lebanon County girls' title

It was all about the silver medals for Cedar Crest at the Lebanon County track and field meet on Saturday.

The Falcons won two out of 18 events, but took second place in eight of the 11 events run on the track to win the team title.

Cedar Crest finished with 155 points, keeping ahead of Palmyra, which scored 146, and Annville-Cleona, which scored 141.

Shanna Sweigart had both victories for the Falcons. She won the shot with a 40-4 1/2 and the discus with a 109-7.

Annville-Cleona's Reagan Hess was named Most Outstanding Athlete of the meet after winning four events and setting two meet records.

Hess set the mark in the 200-meter dash with a 25.5. She, along with Timeshah Clark, Tori Malloy and Veronica Merone, also set the standard in the 4x100 with a 50.2.

Hess also won the 100 with a 12.3 and the long jump with a 17-6.

Palmyra also set a meet record in the 4x400. Miranda Salvo, Maria Tukis, Jess Dembrowski and Katie Dembrowski ran a 4:06.8. The same four runners won the 4x800 with a 9:32.9.
