On a night which threatened rain, two undefeated teams stepped on to COBO field to decide who would keep thier undefeated record. It seemed that even the rain stayed away to watch this great Mid Penn match up.
Hershey would start the scoring with Logan Calhoun finding the net in the first minute. The Trinity defense then kicked in and kept the Trojans out of range until Brook Briggs found success late in the 1 st. In the meantime, Trinity was able to score 2 goals with Kyle Scott scoring on a Jessee Altmeyer feed and Connor Bailey rifleing a shot past Hersheys' keeper Kyle Kondrachi ( 9 saves), ending the period in a 2 -2 tie. The teams traded goals in the 2nd period with CJ Sherlock joining Scott and Altmeyer for the Shamrocks and Jake Wilson combining with Dave Sickler . Then Calhoun , Jm Eberly and Briggs figured out the Shamrocks defense and pulled ahead 8-5 at half.
Matt Stewart got in the action with an unassisted goal to start the 2nd half for Hershey. Brigs, Calhoun, and Wilson scored for Hershey while Jesse Altmeyer collected his second goal of a Bailey assist. The final period would end like the first in a 2-2 draw with CJ Sherlock scoring 2 quick goals to end the game .
" We knew that we could beat their keeper if we got some good looks" said Sherlock. " They are a good team and played well all night. We got some better looks late and were able to score. I think we played well against a very good team " He added " Now we have to get ready for Carlisle".
That game is scheduled to be played on Wednesday at Carlisle
