There is more to winning than just...well, winning.

Cumberland Valley won only one of the 18 events in the girls' side of the Bruce Dallas Track and Field Invitational on Saturday. But the Eagles still won the team title with 90 points, well ahead of the 46 put up by second place Lower Dauphin.

The Eagles took second place in five events and third place in four events to accumulate the winning score.

The one win for Cumberland Valley was provided by Rachel DeCecco, won won the 300-meter hurdles with a 45.46.

DeCecco caught Harrisburg's Sierra Brabham-Lawrence from behind in the last 100 meters, but said that focusing on Brabham-Lawrence early beginning was the key to the race.

"I try to choose someone staggered in front of me to make me sprint, since that seems to be my weak point in the 300," DeCecco said.

DeCecco also added to Cumberland Valley's point total by finishing second in the long jump with a 17-1 1/2, third in the 200 with a 27.23, and fourth in the 100 hurdles with a 16.37.
