HS girls' track: A closer look at the Bruce Dallas Invitational winners

At the Bruce Dallas Invitational at Cumberland Valley, Manheim Twp. won the most events in the girls' track and field meet by taking three gold medals. The host Eagles, however, won the team title with 90 points.

100-meter dash: Carli Locke of Valley View won with a 12.86 after a strange start. There was a false start, but Locke and two other runners ran the first 75 meters before stopping. The boys' 100 dash was competed before the five remaining girls lined up for the restart, when Locke finished the full 100 ahead of Christina Johnson of Susquehanna Twp.

200:Johnson turned the tables in the 200, winning with a 26.72 while Locke had a 26.79.

400:Meredith Newman of Manheim Twp. was the only girl to win two golds on Saturday. She started by taking the 400 in 59.15. She was also part of the Blue Streaks' 4x400 relay team.

800: After running a step behind Lewisburg's Jenna Farmer for one lap, Trinity's Shannon Quinn sprinted the last 400 meters to win the 800 in 2:17.44. Farmer was second with a 2:20.34. For more on Quinn's victory, click here.

1600: Penn Manor's Greta Lindsley took the lead over Cumberland Valley's Mady Clahane early and never let it go, taking the 1600 in 5:06.83. Clahane finished second with a 5:18.23.

3200:Ella Breidenstine finished with a 1:44.64 to take the 3200. Marie Rulapauh of Cumberland Valley was second with an 11:47.90.

100 hurdles: Harrisburg's Sierra Brabham-Lawrence won the finals with a 14.41, after posting the best preliminary time of 14.92.

300 hurdles:Rachel DeCecco came on strong in the last 100 meters to pass Brabham-Lawrence while clearing the last two hurdles. DeCecco won with a 45.46, while Brabham-Lawrence was second with a 47.85.

4x100 relay: Central Dauphin's team of Debie Niang, Lauren Grice, Emily Rajis and Britta Beleski finished won with a 51.62.

4x400 relay: The Rams placed second in this relay, but the Manheim Twp. squad of Madison Keiffer, Newman, Courtney German and Sarah Gottschalk won the event with a 4:11.89.

4x800 relay: Lewisburg took the distance relay with Blake Baylor, Madison Scarr, Kathryn Edwards and Farmer posting a 9:47.50.

Shot: Cedar Crest's Shanna Sweigart was the only thrower to crack 36 feet by throwing a 36-9.

Discus: Alex Zimmerman threw an 111-1 to win, putting the Eagles' Charis Lu and Arianna Moyer into second and third place, respectively.

Javelin: Bishop McDevitt's Anna Bailey set a meet record with a 134-4 on her third attempt of preliminiaries. For more details on Bailey's victory, click here.

Long jump:Erika Miller of Schuylkill Valley posted a 17-9 to beat DeCecco, who had a 17-1 1/2.

Triple jump: Both Taylor Pugh of Bishop McDevitt and Sarah Kosenske of Cumberland Valley had jumps of 37-1, but Pugh was the winner on the second-best jump tiebreaker.

High jump:Jenna Carbaugh of James Buchanan lived up to her top seed by winning with a 5-2.

Pole vault: Schuylkill Valley's Bre Manzolillo set a meet record by clearing 11-4. The previous record was 11-1.
