Penn Manor junior Charles Bell scored four touchdowns and made nine tackles in the Comets' victory over Cedar Cliff on Friday.

MILLERSVILLE - A year ago at this time, Charles Bell was decking unsuspecting ball-carriers for Lancaster Catholic, helping the Crusaders go 16-0 with section, District 3 and PIAA championships to their credit.

Now, Bell is doing plenty of damage for Penn Manor, where he transferred in for his junior year this summer.

Bell grew up in the Penn Manor district before shuffling off to Catholic.

Now he's back.

And he's taking names.

On Friday, Bell made a game-high nine tackles from his middle linebacker spot, and on offense, Cedar Cliff simply had no answers for him.

Bell - he'll also answer to 'Tuna' apparently - had 12 carries for 175 yards and three touchdowns, covering 33, 27 and 24 yards.

He also hauled in a 34-yard TD pass from Adam Sahd, who was a nifty 9-for-10 for 193 yards and two scores.

Bell helped this current crop of Comets' seniors win their first postseason game.

Of course, this is nothing new for him, after playing a key role in Catholic's success just one short year ago.

Caught up with Bell after Penn Manor's win over Cedar Cliff and we chatted about his transition to the Comets, his playoff experience shining through, and plenty more.
