Manheim Township’s senior girls’ basketball players never lost a league game in their four seasons in the Blue Streaks’ program.

Sixty-four tips. Sixty-four wins.

Manheim Township recently wrapped up its fourth undefeated run in a row through Section 1, and the Streaks finished the job, capturing their seventh L-L League championship compliments of a win over section rival Cedar Crest in the finals.

Needless to say, Manheim Township is well represented on our Section 1 all-star list, which includes a first team, second team and honorable mention picks, plus three individual awards: section MVP, top coaching performance and top newcomer.

SECTION 1 ALL-STARS

FIRST TEAM

Rylee Derr, freshman G, Warwick — Hello, world. Standout frosh popped in 18.0 points and splashed 25 3-pointers for the Warriors, while playing under the tutelage of her mom, Warwick coach Amy Derr. Wow, three more seasons of Derr? Yes, please.

Alex Leslie, senior F, Manheim Township — Superb season for Streaks’ major low-post threat. Post moves aplenty with a midrange game to boot. University of Rochester recruit bucketed 16.3 points heading into state playoffs — after helping Manheim Township win section and league titles.

Ahnera Parker, freshman F, McCaskey — Two freshmen on the first team? You betcha. Parker firmly established herself as one of the top low-post players in the league, dropping in 13.3 points in her breakout frosh season.

Jamie Relin, senior G, Manheim Township — Gotta have a point guard on the first team, and we want Relin, who steers the Streaks’ ship and makes Manheim Township go. Distributor. Catalyst. And ultra reliable.

Kaitlyn Van Tash, senior F, Manheim Township — Lebanon Valley College recruit teamed with Leslie to give the Streaks an awesome 1-2 low-post punch. Has a nice perimeter game, too, with 13 3s and 14.3 average heading into PIAA playoffs.

SECOND TEAM

Abbie Hamby, junior F, Penn Manor — Comets’ low-post warrior averaged 8.2 points, holding down the paint quite admirably while Mykayla Fry missed the season with a knee injury.

Rachel Miller, junior G, Cedar Crest — Big part of Falcons’ underclassmen brigade can handle and shoot the rock; bucketed 7.7 points with 28 3s for section runner-up.

Alecia Rohrer, sophomore F, Hempfield — The older she gets, the better the Black Knights’ low-post threat gets. Crafty lefty bucketed 8.8 points this season, and that number will very likely go up the next two seasons. Paint area will be in good hands for Hempfield with Rohrer back for two more campaigns.

Emily Wagner, junior G, Cedar Crest — Major perimeter threat chipped in with 6.3 points and popped 36 3s for shoot-happy Falcons.

Nikki Wagner, junior G, Cedar Crest — Falcons’ floor general knows when to kick it to an opener shooter. And she can shoot it pretty well herself, averaging 9.4 points with 23 treys.

HONORABLE MENTION

Julianna Clark, freshman F, Hempfield — Firmly established herself as a future standout, popping in 6.6 points with 19 3s while helping the Black Knights go to the second round of the district playoffs.

Nicole Files, senior G, Manheim Township — Super defender at the top of the key and the Blue Streaks’ top 3-point threat (31 treys, 5.1 points).

Brittany Imel, junior G, Penn Manor — Comets’ sniper kept opposing perimeter defenses busy with 32 triples, plus 5.5 points a night for Penn Manor.

Alex Rich, junior G, Cedar Crest — Yet another key cog in Falcons’ dangerous jump-shooting unit, scoring 6.9 points with 17 3s. Cedar Crest returns pretty much the whole crew intact next December. Tuck that away in your memory banks.

SECTION 1 MVP

Alex Leslie, Manheim Township — Top-shelf inside game made her the most dominant player in the L-L League.

SECTION 1 TOP COACHING PERFORMANCE

Sean Burkhart, Manheim Township — Another undefeated run through Section 1. Plus a league crown. Plus that blistering 27-0 start and the No. 1 seed in the District 3-AAAA bracket. Burkhart is certainly pushing all the right buttons.

SECTION 1 TOP NEWCOMER

Rylee Derr, WarwickandAhnera Parker, McCaskey — Hey, they were both first-team picks and both had incredible breakout freshman seasons, so Derr and Parker can share this award in our book.
