One WPIAL team out and one WPIAL team in, in this week’s PennLive girls’ basketball Class A state rankings.
Pittsburgh Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic, last week’s No. 10, fell to upstart California in the WPAIL-A quarterfinals.
So we promoted the Trojans from honorable mention to the 10-spot.
Marian Catholic, which fell to Minersville in the Schuylkill League finale, and Berlin Brothersvalley, which lost to Shade in the District 6-A semifinals, each dipped a few spots, but remained safely inside the top 10.
That meant District 5-A finalist Southern Fulton, District 10-A semifinalist Kennedy Catholic and District 2 finalist Old Forge moved up a couple of notches.
The top four remained unchanged: WPIAL-A finalist Vincentian Academy, District 9-A semifinalist — and unblemished — Port Allegany, WPIAL-A semifinalist Serra Catholic and District 6-A finalist Portage are still 1-2-3-4.
With wins Wednesday, Vincentian and Serra would meet in Saturday’s WPIAL-A finale.
Here is the Class A top 10 and honorable mention picks, with records through Tuesday’s games and home district in parenthesis …
