Ignited by Taylor Brown's 19 points, seventh-seeded Upper Dauphin stayed in the postseason Wednesday with an exacting 51-27 District 3-A opening-round victory over Veritas Academy.
With Brown in control, Trojan teammates Laura Sweger (13 points) and McKenzie Miller were busy fueling a tidy 21-6 run in the opening half. Miller secured eight points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Despite 13 points from Hannah Kline, Veritas Academy could not prevent the Trojans from securing a quarterfinal date with 2-seed and host Lancaster County Christian on Saturday.
