We’re still a couple of months away from the start of the high school track and field season.
But Cocalico sophomore Emily Stauffer is already breaking records on the indoor winter track circuit.
The Eagles' standout is already the reigning L-L League and District 3 shot put champ, and she was the PIAA shot put runner-up last spring.
Now Stauffer has set a new mark in the New Balance Games this past weekend, when she launched the shot put a personal-best 45-4.

The previous record had been on the board since 2007.
The New Balance Games were contested at the Armory Track and Field Center in NYC.
Later this spring, she'll be out to defend league and district crowns, and have another go at a state title.
Her best outdoor throw last spring for Cocalico was a 43-10.
Now she’s eclipsed the 45 mark.
