Lancaster Catholic, Boiling Springs, Waynesboro pick up boys' basketball victories: Saturday roundup

Lancaster Catholic 75, Milton Hershey 64: Jack Shedleski's career-high 21 points paced the Crusaders (10-5) past the Spartans (8-5) in this non-league battle of District 3-AAA playoff hopefuls. Omar Lopez added 20 points and 15 rebounds, and Harry Heise also popped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards for the hosts. Tariq Bennett's 20 points paced Milton Hershey, with Rafael Moronta collecting a career-high 17 for Mark Zerbe's club, which saw an end to its four-game winning streak.

Waynesboro 71, Northern 56: A 21-10 first-quarter burst to start things ended with three Indians (12-3) with 15 points -- Seth Hoffman, Tim Ingram and Devonte Montgomery. Connor Fetterhoff added 14 for the visitors in this Colonial/Capital crossover. Eric Jacobs scored 20 for the Polar Bears (5-12).

Lancaster Country Day 56, Line Mountain 48: The host Cougars (4-10, 2-8) stormed back in the fourth quarter to drop their Tri-Valley League foe Eagles (2-13, 2-8) in Lancaster County. Grant Garvin's 15 points led four LCD players in double figures. Brady Michael's career-best 15 points paced Line Mountain.

Boiling Springs 46, East Pennsboro 41: The Colonial won again in this Colonial/Capital crossover, with the visiting Bubblers (13-2) holding off a late charge from the Panthers (9-5). Eric Contreras scored 17 and Austin Pittenger 10 for a Boiling Springs side that led 28-19 at halftime. Amir Mundy's 12 topped East Penn, which made a run at it in the fourth before falling a bit short.

Northeastern 65, Shippensburg 53: Nailing his first six 3-point attempts, Donovian Maxfield finished with 25 points as the visiting Bobcats (8-8) knocked off the Greyhounds (11-5) in a non-league matchup of playoff hopefuls. Kobi Nwandu and Derrick Hoffman added 13 each for the York County outfit, while Derek Lovett's career-high 19 topped Ship.

Harrisburg Christian 68, Kutztown 54: Connor Shroyer did a bit of everything for the host Knights (9-5), scoring a season-high 34 points, sinking 12 of 13 free throws, grabbing 16 rebounds, blocking eight shots and totaling four steals. Scott Gaffey added 18 for HCS, while Tucker Landis tallied 19 for the Cougars (1-12) of Berks County.
