While Berks County upstart Exeter Township had shown plenty of defensive moxie en route to the District 3-AAAA quarterfinal round, there simply is no easy answer for stopping Lower Dauphin QB Troy Spencer.
The Eagles found out the hard way on Friday at Henry Hershey Field as Spencer delivered a 174-yard, three-touchdown performance in the Falcons 28-0 shutout win. Spencer pitched one score to Adam Zeiders midway through the opening period then chipped in TD runs of 20 and 7 yards in the second. He ran for 121 yards on just 15 attempts.

Spencer's performance also was good enough to land the versatile senior top spot in the Pennlive.com District 3 Superstar voting. With nearly 1,000 votes counted in the week 12 poll, Spencer's 236 votes edged the Susquehanna Twp. tandem of WR Chris Ciotti (174) and QB Ben Moser (165). Spencer, who missed the second half (head) against first-round foe Chambersburg, also earned top honors in week 5.
