HALIFAX Wildcats
Coach: Jackie Miller (4th season)
2012 season: 15-6
Top players: Catherine Amoriello (sr S), Davia Erdman (sr OH), Amber Laudenslager (jr MH), Paige Miller (jr OH).
2013 outlook: Four key seniors graduated from a team that nailed down the District 3-A championship, but Miller says this team is showing its desire to carve out its own postseason success.
MILLERSBURG Indians
Coach: Rich Berg (1st season)
2012 season: 5-13
Top players: Amber Roach (jr S), Bryanna Burker (sr OH), Taryn Herb (so MH), Kori Hirsch (jr OPP), Samantha Hines (jr OH), Audra Dohrman (jr MH), Kelsey Koppenhaver (jr OH).
2013 outlook: Berg is a first-time head coach after JV stints at both Millersburg and North Penn (Blossburg). He takes over a program hoping to catch the likes of Halifax in consistent production.
TRI-VALLEY Bulldogs
Coach: Heather Drumheller (3rd season)
2012 season: 17-3
Top players: Jordan Schwalm (sr OH), Katie Rabuck (sr OPP), Alyssa Felty (sr OH), Alexis Artz (jr LIB), Maddie Deibert (so MH), Cat Troutman (so MH), Reagan Newswanger (so S).
2013 outlook: The defending Schuylkill League tournament champions are again hoping to make some noise beyond the regular season. Drumheller's goals are to win the division and play for league and District 11 championships.
UPPER DAUPHIN Trojans
Coach: Terry Bowser (1st season)
Top players: McKenzie Miller (sr OH), Whitni Rudisill (sr MH), Shelyce Lowe (sr OH), Natalie Travitz (jr OH), Taylor Brown (jr S/OH), Colleen Kolva (jr S/OH), Nichole Campbell (jr MH), Laura Sweger (so MH).
2013 outlook: Bowser returns after coaching this program in the 1990s and isn't quite sure what to expect after being out of the game so long. But he starts fresh (just two returning starters) and knows what to work on (passing).
WILLIAMS VALLEY Vikings
Coach: Hannah Schwak (2nd season)
2012 season: 5-15
Top players: Kelsey Miller (sr OH), Jamie Shuttlesworth (sr OH), Olivia Ancheff (jr MH), Jenna Daniel (so MH), Kendra Davis (jr S), Kaytlyn Rabuck (jr LIB), Tianna Yanoscak (so OH), Maura Kreiser (jr OPP).
2013 outlook: Last year's five-win season was a step in the right direction, and Schwak wants to keep marching toward at least .500. She's definitely excited about the growing potential of her young Vikings.
PREDICTED ORDER OF FINISH: 1. Tri-Valley; 2. Halifax; 3. Williams Valley; 4. Upper Dauphin; 5. Millersburg.
