LANCASTER — An L-L League girls' basketball coaching vacancy to pass along.
Janelle Garber, who returned home to coach her alma mater, has stepped down as Elizabethtown's coach after two seasons. She confirmed her resignation on Wednesday.
That leaves a pair of L-L girls' basketball coaching vacancies: Elizabethtown and Solanco.
Ironically, Garber stepped down at E-town because she took a teaching job at Solanco, so there's a possibility she could end up in line for that job. No word on Solanco's plans at the moment.
Solanco's job opened when Tim Glackin stepped down after one season on the job on the Golden Mares' bench.
This past season, E-town went 8-8 in Section 2 and 10-12 overall and missed the postseason — one year after the Bears went 9-7 in Section 2, went to the league playoffs, the District 3 Class AAAA playoffs and finished 13-11 overall.
So the Bears went 23-23 under Garber's watch.
Garber is E-town's third all-time leading scorer with 1,190 career points; she went on to play college basketball for West Chester University.
