MANHEIM — Year 2 of the Scott Shelley Era is underway at Ephrata.
The Mountaineers took some big steps forward last fall, winning a pair of games and, more importantly, getting everyone's attention in Section 2.
The goal this year: Getting more respect.
A ton more.
EPHRATA COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF PREVIEW
The Mounts return a really nice nucleus; a lot of those guys took some lumps, yes. But with a year of experience in Shelley's "Veer" scheme, expect Ephrata to be more potent offensively.
And with some ball-hawkers back on D, expect the Mounts to be more physical.
All good things for a program itching for some wins — and respect.
Chatted with Ephrata's Jon Gehman, Dakota Keefer and Blake Weaver at L-L League Media Day festivities in Manheim last week about the Mounts' progress, the upcoming season and getting that respect. Take a look.
