The Big 33 Scholarship Foundation, Inc. today announced a five-year agreement to pit Pennsylvania's best high school football players against prep stars from Maryland.
Maryland's stars will replace Ohio as Pennsylvania's opponent beginning with the 57th PNC Big 33 Football Classic on June 15, 2013. The two states will renew a rivalry that was last played in 1992.
“The Big 33 is happy to welcome back Maryland to the PNC Big 33 Football Classic,” said Dave Trimbur, Executive Director of the Big 33 Scholarship Foundation. “The competition, as well as the proximity to Hershey, PA, will allow this to continue to be the premier High School Football all-star game in America.”
Known as The Super Bowl of High School Football, the Big 33 showcases football’s future stars. There has never been a Super Bowl played without a Big 33 alumnus. In 2012, Maryland's talent pool featured 76 players with scholarships to Football Bowl Subdivision schools, including 10 four-star prospects.
