Here are this year's PennLive/Patriot-News boys' volleyball all-stars:

Mitch Stahl, sr, outside hitter, Chambersburg: Stahl had a solid senior season, crushing 430 kills into the teeth of opposing defenses geared to stop him. He also chipped in 37 aces from behind the service line. The UCLA product finished his career with 1,432 kills.

Keith Kegerreis, sr, middle hitter, Chambersburg: Every star needs a compliment, and Stahl had a pretty good one in Kegerreis. The senior middle blasted 222 kills and was a wall up front with 188 blocks, 112 of which ended in points.

Austin Frazer, sr, libero, Chambersburg: You can't win in volleyball on offense alone. You need defense, and few were better than Frazer. He registered 448 digs against the best hitters in the Mid-Penn and District 3, upping his career total to 976.

Tyler Zeiders, jr, setter, Red Land: Zeiders dished out 655 assists this season, erasing Matt Marshall's school record. He finished the season with 2,084 markers and still has another year to add to that gaudy total. Zeiders also led the team in aces with 39.

Doug Schriner, sr, outside hitter, Red Land: The Patriots and Zeiders like to spread it around, but that didn't stop Schriner from taking the offensive lead. He ripped 231 kills and 16 aces in helping the Patriots reach districts.

Jamison Hankins, sr, outside hitter, Lower Dauphin: We respect a player who can step up in their last year and perform. Hankins finished his career with 321 kills, but 258 came in his senior campaign to lead the Falcons to districts.

Russell Kreider, sr, outside hitter, Lower Dauphin: Kreider's 203 kills don't jump off the page, but the fact that he has played three positions in three seasons does. The senior was an opposite in 2011 and a libero in 2012. That's a team player.

Shannon Heckman, jr, libero, Lower Dauphin: It isn't easy getting noticed as a libero, but Heckman became impossible to forget. Heckman's ability to read hitters was evident in tallying 451 digs in 90 games this season. He also chipped in 37 aces to lead the team.

Josh Donahue, sr, outside hitter Central Dauphin: The Rams leaper took a backseat to no one this season, polishing off 450-plus kills. Donahue, arguably the best all-around player in the Mid-Penn this season, was equally impressive on defense with over 250 digs to earn conference Co-MVP honors with Stahl.

Jacob Kerschner, so, setter/opposite hitter, Central Dauphin: Throw out the stats with Kerschner, he does everything. He was a rock for CD this season as a part-time setter and stepping up to compliment Donahue in certain sets. He could dominate in 2014.

Kasey Gentry, sr, outside hitter, Hershey: This three-year starter was the top offensive weapon for a Trojans team that qualified for districts. Gentry capped his career with 270 kills and 32 aces, tops on the team in both categories.

Tom D'Arcy, sr, outside, Cumberland Valley: Numbers don't tell the story for this lefty. He only had 190 kills and 31 blocks in 13 matches, but the Eagles standout was also the focus of every defense in every match. That type of attention is tough to overcome.
