MORE PANTHERS ON MOVE: Guard CaLee Gelbaugh wasn't the only CD East hoopster to announce her college plans recently. Point guard Lindsey D'Agostino, a three-year starter, will head East with teammate Alaysia Khan to Alvernia College. CD East center Sylvia Stuart, meanwhile, has picked Pitt-Greensburg as her next destination.

Alvernia coach Kevin Calabria, who started the women's basketball program in 1989, just finished his 24th season at the helm. Although the Crusaders struggled (9-16), Calabria has produced a 423-232 mark in his tenure.

Head coach Erin Eaton led Pitt-Greensburg (11-15) to its second consecutive Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament in February. D'Agostino, Stuart and Khan were key components during the Panthers' run to the PIAA showcase.

PARADE NOD FOR TATE-DEFREITAS: In case you missed it, Steel-high phenom Malia Tate-DeFreitas, Pennsylvania's three-time Class A player of the year, landed a spot on Parade Magazine's All-America girls' basketball team.

It was one of those no-brainer picks, of course, after the Hampton-bound scoring guard pieced together a 1,010-point senior season and eventually finished second on Pennsylvania's career scoring list with 3,366. Only former Mount Carmel star and current Miami (OH) women's basketball coach Maria Fantanarosa has scored more.

Tate-DeFreitas is one of three PA standouts to make the team with Gatorade Player of the Year Shatori Walker-Kimbrough of Hopewell and Jeannette guard Ciara Gregory.

MID-PENN TO PSAC: Shippensburg University head coach Kristy Trn recently announced her recruiting class for the 2013-14 season. Mifflin County ace Logan Snyder is one of eight to pick the Red Raiders, who went 20-8 this season and finished second in the PSAC East behind conference champ Bloomsburg. The 5-6 Snyder, a four-year letterwinner, is a 1,000-point scorer and led the Huskies in rebounding as a junior. …

California (Pa.) signed nine recruits, including siblings Precious and Perfect Martin of Central Dauphin and Tri-Valley forward Taylor Troutman. The Vulcans (22-9) just won a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament games, finishing above 20 wins for the 11th time in the past 12 seasons.

Precious Martin, a Big 15 pick who averaged 13 points as a senior, led the Rams (22-7) all the way the PIAA Class AAAA quarterfinals in March. Troutman, a tireless forward, was the Bulldogs' (28-3) jack-of-trades during Tri-Valley's impressive Class A championship run. Troutman averaged 12.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
