Shelby Lyter went seven strong innings, scattering three hits, and Tara Kibe contributed the go-ahead RBIs in the sixth inning as Mifflin County defeated Central Mountain 3-2 to win the District 6 Class AAAA softball title.
The Huskies, who had 10 hits against Central Mountain, advance to the PIAA tournament beginning on Monday against the winner of the District 3 third-place game between Cumberland Valley and Hempfield.
Mifflin County and Cumberland Valley split two Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division games this season.
All of the District 6 title games were played at Penn State. Claysburg-Kimmel won the Class A crown with a 6-5 victory over Southern Huntingdon. Philipsburg-Osceola won the AA title with an 8-7 win over Ligonier Valley. Hollidaysburg blanked Bellefonte 2-0 to earn the AAA championship.
