Sophomore hurler Hunter Bordner helped hand-deliver Tri-Valley's ninth District 11-A baseball championship Wednesday in Orwigsburg.
Bordner fashioned a complete-game two-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Dawgs doubled-up Williams Valley 4-2 at Greenawalt Field.
Williams Valley turned across two early runs as Bordner needed 30-plus pitches to end the Vikings initial frame. But after allowing a lead-off single in the second, the game-winner retired 18 straight, allowing his offense to handle the rest.
Facing Vikings ace Brendan Miller, Tri-Valley sacked the bases in the fifth. And after Devin Masser's free pass put Tri-Valley on the board, Bordner's sac fly pulled the Dawgs even.
An error allowed Ty Waizenegger to post the go-ahead run seconds later. Tri-Valley's second District 11 title in the last three seasons set up Monday's showdown with District 2 champ Old Forge in the PIAA Class A opening round.
