SHIPPENSBURG - Talk about capping your career in style.
Ephrata senior Mary Witmer, who has dominated L-L League tracks the last couple of years, walked off into the sunset a PIAA gold-medal-winner on Saturday at Shippensburg University.
The Mounts' standout cruised to the Class AA 300 hurdles title, hitting the line in 42.90.
Witmer came into States as the overall No. 1 seed in the 300 hurdles, cranking out a District 3-record 42.11 last weekend, also at Ship.
On Friday, she won her prelim heat in a nifty 43.24, and then she blazed to gold Saturday afternoon, capping a perfect postseason, when she won league, district and PIAA gold in the 300 hurdles - Witmer's specialty.
