Here is a look at the champions of the PIAA Class AA Track and Field Championships:

100 -- Clay Allen, West Middlesex, 10.72
Allen exploded past the competition in the 100 to collect one of his four gold medals. Allen kept dropping time throughout the weekend. He was seeded No. 2 at 10.90, broke into the finals with a 10.88 and dropped another 0.16 seconds in the finals.

200 -- Clay Allen, West Middlesex, 22.29
The senior Allen proved to be the fastest sprinter in the state with his time in the 200. Not only were his times in the 100 and 200 the best in AA, they would have won him AAA gold medals as well.

400 -- David Bricker, Trinity, 49.77
Bricker, a junior, earned gold after being the only AA runner to finish under 50 seconds. He did so without the benefit of his trademark headband. Bricker was the lone Mid-Penn athlete to earn a gold medal at AA states. Annville-Cleona's Ben Mason, who bested Bricker at districts, took second in 50.26. Trinity made its mark in the race, with Matt Janton taking fourth in 50.81 and Matt Bernick taking sixth in 51.43.

800 -- Curt Jewett, Northeast Bradford, 1:58.25
Jewett ended his senior career in style, edging North East's Ryan Smathers (1:59.06) for state gold. District 3 had two other medalists in Wyomissing's Andrew Miller (2:00.83) and Boiling Springs' Jon Goodson (2:01.12). The No. 1 seed, Annville-Cleona's Shawn Wolfe, had a letdown in the race and took 12th, but he did lead the Dutchmen to gold medals in two relays.

1,600 -- Ryan Smathers, North East, 4:22.69
The senior Smathers dominated the field, besting runner-up Tom Seykora of Devon Prep by nearly seven seconds. Smathers dropped more than seven seconds off his preliminary time to take state gold.

3,200 -- Rico Galassi, Holy Cross, 9:12.48
The senior Galassi edged North Schuylkill's Brendan Shearn (9:12.48). Galassi was one of just three runners to post a time under 9:20.

4x100 -- West Middlesex, 43.41
Clay Allen was at it again for West Middlesex, topping Trinity's Brandon Kuntz at the finish line to land one of his four gold medals. Trinity took second in 43.57. A recap of the Shamrocks' day can be found here.

4x400 -- Annville-Cleona, 3:27.16
With senior stars Shawn Wolfe and Ben Mason leading the way, Annville-Cleona cruised to victory over Trinity (3:28.07). Also representing District 3 was Wyomissing, which took fifth in 3:28.97.

4x800 -- Annville-Cleona, 8:03.25
The rest of the state didn't stand a chance, with Annville-Cleona rolling to an eight-second victory over the field. District 3 representatives Wyomissing (8:11.91) and Trinity (8:12.33) took second and third, respectively.

110 hurdles -- Todd Townsend, Neumann-Goretti, 14.06
Townsend capped off his high school track career by blowing away the field by more than a half-second. District 3's Jared Horne of Schuylkill Valley took third in 14.80.

300 hurdles -- Tyler Murphy, Riverview, 38.66
The rest of the field didn't stand a chance against the junior Murphy, who beat his competition by nearly a full second.

Long Jump -- Clay Allen, West Middlesex, 23-0
Allen proved that he could not only run fast, but leap far as well. In winning the state title, Allen ousted defending state champion Danny Jackson of Trinity, who took second in 22-8.5. A roundup of Trinity's performance can be found here.

Triple Jump -- Kyle McKeen, Northwestern, 46-9.25
McKeen leapt more than a foot above his seed mark (45-6.25) to take state gold. The senior No. 3 seed finished more than two feet ahead of runner-up Daniel Reichenbach of Salisbury Township (44-7.25). Representing District 3 was Schuylkill Valley's Gregory Johnson, who took sixth with a 43-9.5.

High Jump -- Zach Pressel, Northern Bedford, 6-8
Pressel took home the state title by leaping four inches higher than his seed height of 6-4. Jared Horne of Schuylkill Valley represented District 3 with a fifth-place leap of 6-4.

Pole Vault -- Luke Patten, West Middlesex, 14-6
The senior Patten ended his high school career by leaping six inches over his seed height. The No. 2 seed battled heavy winds to defeat a host of competitors, including District 3 representative Isaac Robins of Lancaster Mennonite, who took eighth with a height of 12-6. Robins came in seeded No. 21.

Discus -- Evan Arnott, Schuylkill Valley, 195-11
Arnott again proved to be untouchable in the discus. After winning the District 3 meet by nearly 50 feet, Arnott clobbered the state field with a 15-foot victory.

Javelin -- Matt Krezmer, Mountoursville, 182-5
The senior Krezmer was expected to win states and he did, besting North Clarion's Mitch Obenrader (179-7) for state gold. Battling brutal wind conditions, Krezmer threw more than 20 feet under his seed throw of 204-9. Representing District 3 was Berks Catholic's Matt Rainhart, who took sixth with a 168-8.

Shot put -- Jon Yohman, Wilmington, 61-8.5
Yohman deserved to win state gold as he was the only competitor to register a heave of over 60 feet. The No. 1-seeded senior finished nearly two feet in front of the the field, which included District 3 representatives Jason Coon of Schuylkill Valley (2nd, 59-10), Evan Arnott of Schuylkill Valley (3rd, 59-5) and Jerik Reyes of Wyomissing (50-10.5).
