HS boys' track and field: Greenwood spreads the wealth, wins third straight Tri-Valley Meet

Greenwood scored 129 points to win the boys' team title at the Tri-Valley Track and Field Meet on Thursday afternoon.

The Wildcats, who won their third-straight Tri-Valley Meet, won eight events and had seven different athletes win individual events.

Dillon Meehan won the shot for Greenwood with a 46-9 1/4. He was also second in the discus with a 127-7 and was named the Boys Field MVP of the meet.

East Juniata's David Brantley wins three events and takes Boys Track MVP

Greenwood won three other field events.

Jarrett Fortenbaugh took the pole vault with an 11-6, Tyler Fegley won the triple jump with a 41-8 1/2 and Brian Auxt claimed the javelin with a 157-3.

On the track, the Wildcats dominated the middle distances.

Their most entertaining win was in the 1600, delivered by Hunter Miller. He was about to be passed by Juniata's Landon Sheaffer with about 50 meters to go before getting a last kick to win the race. Miller finished with a 4:52.59, and Sheaffer had a 4:53.53.

Hunter Wirth won the 800 with a 2:09.59. Scott Kerstetter won the 400 with a 52.25.

Greenwood also won the 4x400 with a 3:34.18. Kerstetter, Kevin Kissinger, Roy Miller and Gabriel Schroff put together that time.
