LANCASTER - Seven L-L League athletes earned top-10 finishes on Saturday in the state indoor track and field finals at Penn State.
The big winner among the L-L League contingent was Cocalico freshman Emily Stauffer, who uncorker a 43-6 3/4 to win the gold medal in the shot put.
L-L LEAGUE GIRLS
* Stauffer set up what could be a special spring outdoor season by winning the indoor shot put crown - by three feet. Remember her name.
* Penn Manor junior Greta Lindsley, the queen of the cross country circuit in L-L League circles, took fourth place in the 1-mile event, clocking in at 5:05.47. She'll be one to watch in the distance events on the track later this spring.

* Hempfield's Danielle Poletti, the reigning L-L League champ, tied for 8th in the pole vault with a clear of 11-0. She soared a school-record 11-8 to win league gold last spring - and she'll be a heavy favorite to repeat later this spring.

L-L LEAGUE BOYS
* Reigning L-L League cross country champ Shawn Wolfe from Annville-Cleona finished 6th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:55.68. Wolfe won the District 3-AA cross country title in his junior year in 2011.

* McCaskey's Tyree Ballenger finished 7th in the high jump event with a leap of 6-4.
* Hempfield's Devon Santos earned an 8th-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.30.
* Northern Lebanon's Joe Vedilago was 9th in the 400 meter dash, clocking in with a 50.33.
